Final result

this is the final result for my final piece the background image was just an image i found on google and combined it with my image that i created for it because i hadnt drawn in all its foot i descided to erase some of it and positioned it somewhere that it looked like it was behind something with the move tool and shrank it a bit with the free transform tool after flipping it horizontaly with the transform tool. after that i added the shark on the right after using the magic wand tool to cut it and dragged it into this image i then created the orby fish thing at the bottom using the teqnuiec that we leard before and created a new brush for the bubbles resulting in the image i now have being my final result.

i feel i could have done better with it had i been able to make more characters quicker and thus been able to put more of them in, but overall i feel i did well and that the things i put in are things that you wouldnt see under water.

final image

this is the image i actually used for my final image, i went through colours i wanted to use and put them to the side of the image using the brush tool in a seperate layer under the line art so i wouldnt mess up the line art. i chose red as the base body colour, because i thought it looked right, to put the colour down i just enlarged the brush size and went along colouring the entire body and after any bits that went over the lines went along the edges of the line art with the rubber tool and rubbed them out. after colouring the body i coloured the hair with a smaller brush and carefully put the colour in trying not to go over the lines, after which i put in the under body colour with a slightly larger brush, first outlining where the under belly stopped. after getting the basic colours in i started going around the areas with a slight darker version of the original colours and showing where the shadows were with the brush tool but on a very small setting and also did the same with the hair choosing where the hair would be darker. after doing all of this i went over the line art layer with the rubber tool just touching up the lines and doing the same with the colour layer.

After finishing the colouring, i looked at it and felt that it could do with something more so i decided to put some different coloured tattoos on the character in a seperate layer inbetween the colour and line art, the tattoo designs are just completly random and i just sketched out one part of each one and kept going till i liked it.

final image experiment

this is another experiment for my final image. i was just basically doing different coloring styles mainly cell shading or anime style colouring and trying different colours together. i drew out the image twice using two different ways of drawing. the image above was done using the brush tool and the second image was done using the pen tool after i had colored with the first line work so i had a basic outline. during the whole of the drawing and colouring process i was using a tablet as i feel it is easier to do this sort of thing with than a mouse, i decided against using this image in the final piece due to seeing to many errors in it and also feel that its not good enough.

just some colouring tests for underwater poster

lezard

we created a lizard with a hippos head on it. To do this we started off by dragging a picture of a hippos head onto a picture of the lizard, then free transformed the hippos head to line it up with the lizards neck. After doing that we then went on to changing the colour of the hippos head to match the lizard. we then added a layer mask on top of the layer of the hippo and selected the brush tool and blended in the lizard body to the hippos head.

After this we made the inside of the hippos mouth pink again by using a quick mask and the brush tool. Once it was pink we then used the same method to get the colour of his eye back as well as the inside of his ear. Finally on this part we changed the colour levels of the image to make it look better.

After doing all of this we went on to putting a blue layer in the background to make a contrast.

day 2

today we edited 3 images together into one using thins such as mask, fillter, and other things in photoshop each process takes a while to get your head round but after a while is easy enough, and this is the finnished result of the work i think i could of done better had i not been trying to keep up so much when being told how to do each thing but i wanted to know how each thing was done so i could just do it.

we used levels to pigment the sand blue to little rocks blue and also used the glass effect tool to make a ripple effect on the top of the water to add realism to the piece and used the gradient tool so that we look like we are in the sea and also added a noise effect to add a reflection in the scene to look like little things in the picture this also added realism this was done in a new agustment layer so it could be easly edited later and is not efecting it in a way that cant be changed

Photoshop 2

created a seperat brush by editing things such as the scatter and jitter for the brush creating a bubble effect also changing the spacing of it so that the dots are a range of sizes during the brush stroke.
feel it came out well for a first try could do better the more used to the program I get. we used a lense flair and then used the smugde tool with difrent brush sizes and 0% hardness to make a soft edge for the orb effect with websafe colours. we did shourtcuts as well inculiding alt del to fill a area and b for the brush and ctrl z to undo and ctrl alt z to step back step. we used the layers palit so you can safe editing on your work and the history plait. we made a custom brush by changing the skater and the jitter and spaceing to make a orignal image to make the trail of the orb then I changed the opacity so it blended in with the orb itself. then we used a mask to mask off the area that we wonted to work on i also used the opacity of the brush so i would select and have less efect on the image

Photoshop

smudge tool - using different size brushes and zero hardness, at 85% strength

Brush tool

selecting colours using web safe colours

shortcuts - b for brush, CTRL+Z for undo, CTRL alt delete to fill with foreground colour

Layers palette

History palette

I feel that my little orb in the image came out well but fell i can do better the more I learn about photoshop there by increasing my ability to be able to make it look better and more interesting. The processes for each bit are a bit complex but as you learn them it gets easier making the tasks a tad easier to finnish

first day

its is going well :3
